This opportunity serves as a stepping stone for individuals with little or no work experience to embark on a rewarding journey in a thriving machine shop. You will undergo comprehensive training, gaining proficiency in all facets of hands-on work within a machine shop and equipping yourself with the necessary tools for success.
Key responsibilities include learning and actively contributing to the setup of moderately complex jobs. You will operate conventional, special-purpose, and computerized numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers. Your role involves fabricating metallic and nonmetallic parts, as well as fitting and assembling machined parts into complete units. This requires a solid understanding of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.
