Field Manager – Commercial Construction

Position Overview

The Field Manager is a key operations leader responsible for coordinating all on-site project activities and fostering strong relationships with subcontractors, general contractors, and internal teams. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this individual will ensure each job is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and with consistent communication between field and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily on-site project operations, ensuring safety quality, schedule adherence
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with subcontractors, general contractors and superintendents
  • Serve as the primary field contact to Project Managers, providing daily updates and flagging issues proactively
  • Review and interpret construction blueprints and structural drawings with a high level of technical understanding
  • Manage inventory of project-specific materials and coordinate with internal and external project team members
  • Monitor and maintain project timelines and milestones, identifying and resolving issues promptly
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and corporate standards at all jobsites
  • Provide field leadership and mentoring to ensure a culture of ownership and solutions-oriented execution
  • Travel 20-30% (some overnight travel required)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of commercial construction experience
  • Strong command of blueprint reading, structural design principles and field coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and communicate with cross-functional teams and subcontractors
  • Proven success overseeing multiple active job sites
  • Clean Class C Driver’s License
