Millersville, MD – September 9, 2014 – Trevor Simm, president and founder of the Maryland-based IT and technical staffing company, OpalStaff, today announced the launch of a new staffing company, Talos Solutions.
Like OpalStaff, Talos Solutions will serve companies from a variety of industries, including aircraft/aerospace, scientific, biotechnology and healthcare, government and defense, construction, manufacturing and industrial engineering, logistics and transportation. While OpalStaff focuses predominantly on IT and technology specific companies and positions, Talos Solutions will work primarily with companies that are not IT specific and/or do not require IT specific candidates.
“Early this year, OpalStaff was experiencing an uptick in staffing requests beyond IT, and we thought it made sense to establish Talos Solutions in order to service those requests and opportunities that fell outside of our traditional business line,” said Simm. “The OpalStaff and Talos Solutions teams are integrated for the time being, and the fundamentals of staffing – both the sales and recruiting – are the same within both companies. The two will simply concentrate their efforts on serving different types of companies.”
On the candidate front, Talos Solutions will seek a wide range of professionals, from highly skilled technicians to executive staff within skilled trade verticals; Talos Solutions will partner with companies to provide technical labor, engineering, architects, facilities personnel, and life sciences positions.
Though the companies will operate independently, they will share an executive team and office space at OpalStaff’s Millersville location. There are six people currently working under Talos Solutions. The company plans to growth quickly, adding new employees every three months with goals to expand in the Mid-Atlantic in the near future. Running the day-to-day operations at Talos Solutions will be Cameron Shinaberry, who joined OpalStaff earlier this year to help the company attract additional clients in both the commercial and government spaces. He will report to Simm.
